Leaving Feedback as a Buyer or Seller

Professional Buying, Sales Reports, Shoes, Sporting Goods, Sports, my chicago, phone May 18th, 2008

First why write this? I had a customer treat me like a bully and I realized I was doing something others hated and didn’t realize it. I asked them to give me feedback and they asked me if I was happy that I got paid. Wow, I was being a feedback bully and I didn’t even realize it.
As a Seller:

Leave your positive as soon as you get paid. Your satisfaction over the transaction should only rely upon being paid, period. Everything else is reliant upon how you as the seller handle things such as the product, truthfulness in your statements, the packaging, shipping, and all your communications with your customer. For most buyers, as long as you deliver on your sale, they will be happy. Trust and you shale recieve.
As a Buyer:

Just be fair and leave a positive or nothing at all. If you had a somewhat bad experience and the product wasn’t what you wanted, or the shipping was late, or any of the other reasons why your experience could be bad, work with the seller. Most sellers will fix things. Even if the seller says As-Is they may still try to make things right.

If the problem is minor and the seller isn’t willing to remedy things it still may warrant a negative but at least give them a chance to prove the axiom “The Customer is always Right” not the axiom Caveat Emptor.
Final Thoughts:

I understand; if you get really crappy service, shipping, untruthful statements, leave a negative. Flame the buggers! That’s why the negative exists and it makes it easier for the rest of us to learn from your bad experiences.

Remember, as a seller or a buyer you can always have a second word on any feedback. You can even mutually remove feedback, so don’t hold back. As a seller, if you liked getting paid, say so. As a buyer. if you liked your purchase say so.
Don’t hold back and don’t blackmail for feedback. It makes you look like you are hiding something. It makes you appear untrustworthy.

Need someone to look at an auction and

Professional Buying April 19th, 2008

I bought this dress from auction #350046384123. I received it today. But the dress i got is not the one pictured. I sent the seller a message stating this and she emailed me back and said they ONLY sell the one pictured so there is no way I received anything different. She claims she is not responsible for how I “saw” it on my computer. She says she will not accept a return of the dress since she sent me what I ordered. The dress I received is cream colored with fuschia colored flowers and the sleeves and hem are trimmed with an inch to two inches of solid black. This is not the picture I am seeing on my computer. Am I really seeing the color of the dress wrong??

EBAY GETTING A LITTLE TOO GREEDY?

Professional Buying April 19th, 2008

I have been a member of ebay since 98 or 99 and I used to love it! It was a great way to pick up things that you could not always find, and to meet new people. You could pay with paypal or other methods and it was worth it! I could list things and sell them at a low price. The whole idea of Ebay was awesome!!! But now, lets see….. They bough Paypal, and now you HAVE to accept it! You HAVE to accept credit cards. So now you HAVE to pay all of the fees! They have fee’d you to death as a seller that is it really worth selling on Ebay anymore? If you think about it, if you list a (just for example)”dvd” for .01 and you wind up selling it for 49 cents. You are in the hole! The only people making anything at all is EBAY! In fact, they used to be helpful when people tried to steal from you or refused to refund money on bogus items. But now, they just send some generic “friendly” email saying thanks for writing, but unfortunatly we can’t do anything! Cant or WON”T? They want all of the moeny they can get, but don’t want to keep their customers. They used to, but not anymore. They have gotten too big. And don’t care anymore. How can they say they care, when every change they have done is for them and not one is for the sellers or buyers who put them on the map in the first place?!! Does anyone else have anything to add to this? I am going to move on, and not use this site anymore. Now, I hear that you HAVE to belong to paypal to even buy in here after June. Again, that should be our choice of how to pay the sellers! But then, if we send payment some other way, then Ebay can’t squeeze the money out of us. Time we all say ENOUGH!
Speak up, I would love to hear I am not alone!

Fake Coach

Professional Buying April 19th, 2008

I opened up a dispute with paypal because I was sold a fake coach bag and the seller was not responding to my e-mails. Now through paypal the seller responded and said she is waiting for me to return the bag. Do I return this bag? How do I know she will refund my money? Or should I escalate my dipute to a claim with paypal?

Weird - 2 items, 2 sellers, came in

Professional Buying April 19th, 2008

Now the first item I wasn’t happy with, one of those snad thingies. Wrote the seller, he said I could send back & he’d refund the price, fair enough. But the return shipping would be more than the refund so oh well, my bad and I figured I’d just eat it. But now, curiously, that seller has zero listings where he had a bunch before (still registered tho).

2nd item I like just fine & dandy.

Just thought it was weird that both items came in the same box?

Problem with transaction

Professional Buying April 19th, 2008

I recently purchased a battery & charger for a digital camera. The auction stated that the items were compatable with my make/model of camera (camera was actually found by a friend, so I don’t have a manual or anything).

Upon receiving the items, the battery does NOT fit the camera.

The return policy says that they will only exchange defective products, or give store credit. No cash refunds. They have a listing for a different battery & charger that I think might actually fit the camera, so I’d be willing to accept an exchange.

I’ve sent the seller 2 messages: one through ebay’s “ask seller a question” and one through the email link posted in the auction for “wrong item sent”. They have not responded. After looking (too late), I saw that the seller has a lot of negative feedbacks for not responding.

What is a reasonable amount of time to allow the seller to respond before I contact ebay and/or paypal? Should I try to send another message first?

Thanks in advance!

Keyword spamming and hidden text

Professional Buying April 19th, 2008

I have an email sent to me when a new listing is available for a certain brand of an item.

For the past few weeks I keep getting a certain seller (DREAM ANGELS PINK VS INTIMISSIMI) repeatedly filling my box with their junk.

The hidden text is a paragraph full of keywords in teeny tiny print below their size chart. Not visible unless you highlight. They also keyword spam in their titles.

After numerous reports they are still there. Is there a way to report and tell eBay exactly where and what to look for? The ones that were obvious in the titles dissappeared, but the hidden text remains. I am afraid eBay has no clue what to look for!

I’m tired of sifting through their junk, not to mention purposeful keyword spamming like that ticks me off!

Professional Buying April 19th, 2008

Harley Davidson Women’s Shirts - Lot of 12 (120243501748)
i BOUGHT THIS LOT OF SHIRTS AND THE AUCTION SAID ALL WERE SIZE LARGE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION OR IN JUST LIKE NEW CONDITION - WELL I JUST RECEIVED THEM TODAY AND THEY ARE ALL IN NICE CONDITION EXCEPT ONE HAS WHAT LOOKS LIKE A SMALL INK STAIN ON TOP LEFT SIDE AND MOST OF THE HARLEY LABELS HAVE BEEN REMOVED ALONG WITH THE SIZE’S ( NOTHING WAS MENTIONED ABOUT THIS IN THE AUCTION) A COUPLE APPEAR TO BE DIFFERENT THAN A LARGE AND ONE OF THEM THAT DOES HAVE THE LABEL SAYS MEDIUM. I THINK MOST PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW IF THE SIZE HAS BEEN REMOVED!!! BUT AT ANY RATE THERE IS THE ONE THAT IS CLEARLY MARKED A MEDIUM.

I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED THIS SELLER - IF SHE ISN’T HELPFUL IN RESOLVING THIS SHOULD I LEAVE NEG FEEDBACK?????

Please Help me with my first transaction

Professional Buying April 19th, 2008

I have purchased a playstation-3 on ebay and i believe the seller stiffed me. I have purchased blu-ray dvd for the system following my transaction. the seller emailed me on 4-04-2008 stating that the items have been shipped; however, it has been nearly 2weeks and i have tried to e-mail the seller, i have even called the seller(i recieved his number through ebay) a female ended the communication, so i went on too file a complaint through paypal. How long does it usually take for a ps3 to be delivered through usps. unfortunately, this transaction has made me loose trust in ebay.
