WWYD Buyer wants to ship to unconfirmed addy

Sales Reports November 27th, 2007

Why do they do this to me?

Buyer fires off two different emails immediately after BIN stating that the Paypal confirmed addy is wrong and he actually wants item shipped to his new addy in same city.

I state clearly in my short, 4 lines of TOS that I only ship to Paypal confirmed addy.

This is a $20.00 electronic item. Would you chance it?

Only you know if you could afford the loss. Many here will say “$20.00? Ship it.”

But $20.00 is a half a tank of gas or a couple days worth of groceries. I dislike buyers who not only BIN when they know they can’t adhere to my TOS, they follow it up by telling me how the transaction will be handled.

if you aren’t in a position to take the loss, tell the buyer that they need to confirm their new address and re-pay.

I’ve shipped to two unconfirmed addresses with no problems. The buyers had high feedback and for whatever reason just had never bothered to confirm with PayPal.

But, I hear all the time about people being cheated out of money over it.

others November 23rd, 2007

I would be tempted to play along. I always say to not go back and forth with someone, but of course in this case I can say that I was speaking about completed deals.

Q: How much lower than $6.85 can you ship for?
A: Thank you for your persistant desire to buy this item. I can ship for $7.25

Q: Huh? are you crazy or something? I asked about how much lower you can go.
A: Yes, I would be glad to assist you and mark shipping for you at $7.56.
